Position: External Auditor (ANZSCO 221213)

Salary: $85,000 - $90,000 + Super

Our client, Audit Axis, is seeking a motivated and experienced External Auditor to join their team. The role involves examining and evaluating financial statements and internal controls to ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation. The auditor will provide independent assurance that all financial information is accurate, reliable, and prepared in accordance with required standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent audits of financial statements in line with auditing standards and professional guidelines.

• Review accounting records, financial reports, and internal control systems for accuracy and compliance.

• Identify discrepancies, risks, or areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.

• Prepare detailed audit working papers, documentation, and supporting evidence.

• Develop audit plans, timelines, scopes of work, and testing procedures.

• Perform substantive and analytical testing of financial transactions.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk-management frameworks.

• Prepare audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and conclusions.

• Liaise with clients, management, and external stakeholders regarding audit progress and outcomes.

• Stay updated with changes to accounting standards, tax laws, regulations, and auditing requirements.

• Ensure all audit work complies with ethical, professional, and legal standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional membership (e.g., CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or equivalent) is preferred.

• Previous auditing experience, particularly in external audit, is highly regarded.
