Salary: $69,000 - $75,000 + Super

Closing Date: 02 March 2026


Our client Fresh Meats, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Butcher to join their team.


Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Prepare, cut, trim, bone, and portion meat products including beef, lamb, pork, and poultry

  • Operate and maintain butchery equipment such as slicers, saws, mincers, and knives

  • Prepare meat for display, packaging, weighing, pricing, and labelling

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations

  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation

  • Minimise waste and ensure efficient use of meat products

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment

  • Provide advice to customers on meat selection, storage, and preparation (if customer-facing)

  • Assist in training junior staff or apprentices as required


Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) or equivalent qualification

  • Relevant work experience as a butcher (preferred for visa purposes)

  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques

  • Knowledge of Australian food safety standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets


Willing to sponsor the right candidate under the Subclass 482 or Subclass 494 (Labour Agreement) visa
