Position: Chef (ANZSCO 351311)

Location: Yarrawonga, Shepparton & Goulburn Valley VIC

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 plus Superannuation

We are posting an ad on behalf of our client, 'Burkes Hotel Motel'.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients

  • Ensuring consistently high standards of food presentation and taste

  • Assisting head chef with budgeting, costing, menu planning and development to cater to customer preferences

  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

  • Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

  • Providing guidance and training to junior kitchen staff

  • Collaborating with the wider hospitality team to deliver exceptional customer service

  • You must be flexible to work for 38 hours/week in a seven-day rotating roster, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.


To qualify for this role:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef in a similar hospitality environment

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles and presentation

  • Passion for using fresh, seasonal produce to create delicious, high-quality meals

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work

  • Must have AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management, and Diploma of Hospitality Management

  • Experience in cooking both Western and Asian cuisines.
