Successful applicants must have:
- Minimum of Certificate IV in Patisserie or Certificate III and 2 years experience
- Excellent attitude, communication skills & grooming standards
- Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Ability to cope well under pressure and have the ability to meet tight deadlines
- The capacity to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment
- Team player with exceptional cooking and communication skills
- Relevant qualifications or have previous experience in a similar role or environment
Main responsibilities:
- Measuring and mixing of ingredients and the supervision of assistant Pastry Chefs
- Creation of Signature desserts and the development of new designs and recipes
- Be able to make all items on the menu
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures
- Food preparation and testing and tasting of recipes
- Experimentation with new flavours
- Controlling temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Stock management and ordering
- Following the latest trends in Pastry Cooking
- Complying with Food Safety, Work Health and Safety procedures
