About the role:
A well-established hospitality group has recently opened a restaurant/ events function centre in Manly Pavilion. They serve modern Australian cuisine and specialise in decadent desserts, such as panna cotta, tarts, mousse, crumble and sorbet. They are now seeking a passionate and creative pastry chef to join their team.
Responsibilites include:
- Production of a wide range of delicious desserts and pastries
- Maintain an exceptionally high standard when preparing pastries, sorbet's and other desserts
- Checking the cleanliness of equipment and comply with occupational health and safety regulations
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
- Preparing pastry fillings
- Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
- Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
- Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
-Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
- Ability to work unsupervised and follow recipes accurately
- Be able to work as an active member of a team
- Clear understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
Ideal candidate:
- Minimum of 1.5 years experience in a similar role
- Hard working, reliable and friendly
- Must be passionate about the craft and display very high standards in food production and presentation
