We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our manufacturing department.
Responsibilities:
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings and plans according to our construction
- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
- Cutting marked out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, metal cutting machines and flame cutting torches
- Bending and shaping metal sections and pipes using machine and hand tools, by heating and hammering
- Creative operation and maintenance and process plan and installations
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting & riveting
- Examining welds for width of bead, precision and penetration
- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filling, and acid washing
- Liaise with other sites and companies
- Any other reasonable duty in accordance with job description
To Be Considered for this Role:
- 2+ years experience in a similar position
- Trade qualified
- Excellent communication skills & organisation skills
- Be proficient in the use of water jet & CNC machine and tools
- Knowledge of the full application of engineering science and technology
