This timeless Lapstone hotel, located in Blaxland NSW, is a great venue for tourists visiting the beautiful Blue Mountains as well as being very popular with locals. They are now looking for an experienced and bubbly  cook to join their team! 
  
Main duties:
  • examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
  • regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • seasoning, preparing and cooking food
  • portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding sauces and garnishes
  • storing food in temperature controlled facilities
  • preparing food in accordance to special dietary requirements
  • may train other kitchen staff as well as apprentices

 
You should have:
- Minimum 3-4 years experience in a professional cooking environment
- A sense of responsibility and integrity to ensure all food safety and company standards are met and exceeded
- Be able to work under minimal supervision
- Be switched on for what will be a busy environment

Key Duties:
- Opening and closing of the venue
- Shift management as cash control
- Staff supervision and training
- End of night reporting and compliance
-  Bar management (wastage control, keg rotation, stock control etc)
- Exceptional customer service (attending to patron needs, complaint resolution)
- Other day to day duties expected of management

The Person:
- Hold a current RSA + RCG
- Experience operating a POS
- Demonstration of strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment
- Previous experience in similar role, providing exceptional customer service
- Certifications highly valued (Certificate III in Hospitality Management)

What the main responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: 
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting
  • Financial and Management reporting and Business Partnering
  • Fixed asset maintenance

Position: Pastry Chef
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 (experience dependent) + super

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated full time pastry chef. Someone who is passionate about their craft and who will take ownership and be dedicated to the ongoing growth and development of the business. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to handle the daily operations of a high volume bakery.

Responsibilities include:
  • As a Pastry Chef, you are responsible for operating our pastry kitchen. 
  • A Pastry Chef will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings.
  • Responsible to create high quality pastry dishes with the standard recipes and presentations in order to maintain quality standards and consistency of product. 
  • Assist in production and maintenance of par stocks of pastry and dessert with proper rotation of products.
  • Maintain highest cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry and bakery section.

Ideal candidate:
  • Diploma in Pastry; or
  • Relevant work experience for 3 years
  • Hard working, reliable and friendly individual
  • Must be passionate about the craft and display very high standards in food production and presentation
